Japan Inspection Organization issue “Classic car verification” or “Classic motorcycle verification” document for the vehicle(s) & motorcycle(s) more than 25 years old. The age record of the vehicle/motorcycle will be verified at Bureau of Transport under the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) before issuing verification document.
A classic car/motorcycle is an older type of car/motorcycle that is usually no longer produced and is over 25 years old. However, there is no standard criteria for what makes a car/motorcycle a classic because different countries have their own rules and regulations.
A classic car/motorcycle is typically described as an automobile after 25 years of first registration or more older, although a car/motorcycle’s age is not the only requirement it must meet before being considered a “classic.” However, a standard criteria for recognizing cars as classics does not exist.
Since different countries use their own rules and have their own regulations for classifying a potential car/motorcycle as “Classic Car”or “Classic motorcycle”, classification vary depending on each country and region.
